  • The Center for Economic and Political Research for Community Action (CIEPAC) - Members of CIEPAC carry out research and analysis on the economic, political, social, and military situation in Chiapas in its national and international context.
  • Zapatistas in Cyberspace - A comprehensive list of resources pertaining to Zapatista history and struggle.
  • Irish Mexico Group - An index of all known English materials pertaining to the EZLN / Zapatistas and on the rebellion in Chiapas. It also contains sections on movements elsewhere in Mexico and on Mexican history.
  • Rebeldia - Online version of Zapatista interest magazine. Mostly Spanish with some translation.
  • Jaguar Sun - Excellent site on the Maya including history, culture and current events with a strong section on Chiapas.

    The important forth section of Zugman's dissertation is an account of Mayan influence on Zapatista political principles. She endeavors to detail some of the principles and then describes how the Mexico City-based FZLN (Zapatista National Liberation Front) seeks to practice them. The principles she focuses on included "command by obeying; listening to the other; building a world where many worlds fit; and walking at a slower pace".
